The following is an excerpt from my upcoming essay (and potential new book, “La Casa Nostra”). I have over 12,000 more words to release in the La Casa Nostra series. If you like this excerpt, please share it on your social networks. Note, the names of some individuals may have been changed to protect their identity…That’s how it goes in LCN.

There’s old money, new money and tech money. There’s railroad money, which is different from oil money, which is different from manufacturing money. There’s bonus money, key money, and buy-out money. There’s base money. There’s retirement money. There’s foreign money and there’s domestic money. There’s shady money and funny money, both of which are usually laundered money. There’s family money and gifted money. There’s stupid money. There’s cash money and Crypto. There’s fuck you money.

And then, there’s fake money.

Fake money is the bane of every agent’s existence. It careens around the brokerage universe before landing in the orbit of an unsuspecting agent. But why it exists in the first place is a cosmological mystery. Is it the thrill of the deal? The need to impress others? Or maybe, it’s something more innate. The need to feel important. The desire to be respected.

Fake money is the conman’s currency. He uses it well.
